Project FAQ
Will any existing parking spaces be removed?
No parking spaces will be removed.
How many currently free spaces would become paid parking?
Approximately 500, including up to 200 on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and up to 300 in off-street lots.
Why are rates changing?
In 2025, City Council voted to increase the citywide public parking rates at on-street metered spaces and off-street parking facilities. LADOT is pursuing a Coastal Development Permit (CDP) to implement the new rates in Venice.
How does demand-based pricing work?
The hourly rate is based on paid parking demand. When demand is low the rates are lower and when demand increases the rate increases to more effectively manage limited parking supply.
