The Central District is one of four district offices in the Development Services and Permits Program engaged in regulating construction work in the public right of way, issuing a variety of construction and encroachment permits, including utility, sewer, excavation, minor and major infrastructure work, and processing telecom applications for the Above Ground Facilities program-wide. The Central District office also operates public counters that serve around 900 customers per week. The Central District supports the Board of Public Works, the Mayor’s Office, the City Attorney’s Office, and eight of the fifteen Council Offices.
