Under Prop K, $298,850,000 of the total $750,000,000 amount generated over the 30 year lifetime of Proposition K – L.A for Kids was set aside for 183 Specified projects (projects that were adopted, and identified by scope and funding amount, in the ballot measure.) These projects include parks, recreation facilities, Cultural and Arts facilities, athletic fields, and outdoor improvements, and improvements to meet the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
As of August, 2025, of the 183 specified projects identified in the ballot measure, there are 32 remaining specified projects, or portions of specified projects, in progress, from pre-design through post-construction. Eight (8) specified projects have been found to be infeasible to date.
As of FY 2025-26, a Two-Year Plan was adopted for the remaining Specified projects, to reflect the fact that only two fiscal years remain in the funding portion of the Program. In FY 2020, a Seven-Year Plan was adopted, at the request of City Council, to provide a definitive plan for completion for all remaining, feasible specified projects. (Note: Previously, a Five-Year Plan was adopted each year by the City Council, based on input from the Regional Volunteer Neighborhood Oversight Committees and the L.A. for Kids Steering Committee.)
The current Two-Year Plan outlines a list of remaining/ongoing specified projects in each City region, ranked within Council District, that are recommended to be done over the remaining two (2) funding years of the Proposition K – L.A. for Kids Program.
