Project Description and Location
The Project consists of converting approximately 200 existing unmetered on-street parking spaces into metered spaces along Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. Existing parking meters will be upgraded to the latest model, which includes newer vehicle occupancy sensors, color LED screens, and enhanced mobile payment options, including pay-by-cell app, text-to-pay, and tap-to-pay. The Project also includes an increase to the hourly base rate for on-street parking meters, and the addition of up to 30 pedestrian wayfinding signs and up to 20 vehicular wayfinding signs in Venice.
The Project includes increasing the hourly base rate at six off-street parking lots in Venice, which consist of approximately 500 parking spaces. Additionally, the Project will convert three unmetered lots into metered lots, which consist of approximately 100 parking spaces. Converting these lots would include implementing a new hourly rate, installing multi-space pay stations, and new signage.
