Welcoming visitors to the west side of the PARC will be the Len Hill Arts Plaza, which was made possible thanks to a generous $1.9 million philanthropic gift from the Leonard Hill Trust.
The Plaza will be a performance stage with terraced seating that will host art and cultural events for the area. Designed with flowing curves and large open spaces, the Len Hill Arts Plaza seeks to bring together the creative spirit and vibrant energy of the community.
The donation by the Leonard Hill Trust will fund construction and initial programming. Leonard Hill, who passed away in 2016, had a successful career in the television industry and later transitioned into real estate development. He was one of the pioneers who helped to transform the landscape of the Arts District with the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, including notable projects such as the Toy Factory Lofts and the Biscuit Company Lofts. The gift recognizes the positive value of public private partnerships for community building.
Len Hill's wife, Dr. Patricia Gordon, has continued to champion the project and was integral to the development of the concept and design.
