Envision Infrastructure Sustainability Certification

The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s (ISI) Envision framework is a comprehensive sustainability rating system used to guide and evaluate the performance of civil infrastructure projects across five key categories: Quality of Life, Leadership, Resource Allocation, Natural World, and Climate & Risk. The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering (BOE) has adopted the Envision framework to integrate sustainability and resilience into the planning, design, and delivery of its public infrastructure. Through Envision, BOE assesses the environmental, social, and economic benefits of projects across their entire lifecycle. 

To date, BOE has completed the Envision certification process for ten projects across its Mobility, Clean Water Infrastructure, and Public Buildings & Open Space programs, earning four Platinum, two Gold, two Silver, and two Verified awards.
