Hyperion Advanced Water Purification Facility (HAWPF)

An Initial Study/Negative Declaration (IS/ND) has been prepared for the Hyperion Advanced Water Purification Facility (HAWPF) in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act.

PROJECT LOCATION: The proposed project site is located at Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant, 12000 Vista Del Mar, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293, within Council District 11, in the City of Los Angeles. Figure 1 shows the location of the proposed project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Los Angeles is seeking to construct an advanced water purification facility at the existing Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant (HWRP). This project entails the construction of a 1.5-million gallon per day (mgd) advanced water purification facility, expandable to 5 mgd, to provide water to HWRP and other nearby facilities for a variety of non-potable uses.

PUBLIC REVIEW PERIOD: The proposed project Initial Study Negative Declaration will be circulated for a thirty (30) day public review period, beginning on September 7, 2017 and ending on October 6, 2017. Copies of the document are available for review at the following locations:
